Testing and Contact Tracing

Testing and Contact Tracing Are Crucial to Protecting You and Our Campus Community

Ongoing testing can help to identify possible cases of COVID-19 exposure and monitor the spread of the virus within our campus community. Individuals who are currently awaiting COVID-19 test results should refrain from visiting the campus in person until the final test results are received; they should foremost seek the guidance of medical professionals regarding test recommendations and result interpretations.

Receive COVID-19 Testing on Campus

SF State will be conducting weekly COVID testing for employees and students who have requested medical or religious exemptions (including some represented employees) and for those represented employees who have declined to upload proof of vaccination through December 17, 2021. In addition, if any campus community member experienced close contact with someone who tested positive for COVID while participating in in-person operations, they will be eligible for testing. Note: appointments for on-campus testing are required. Please visit Campus Planning for current health and safety protocols and guidelines.

COVID-19 Mass Testing Site

Please note, the test is a non-invasive, self-administered saliva-based polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test. In order for the test to be successful, do not eat, drink, smoke, brush your teeth, use mouthwash or lip products 60 minutes prior to your appointment. If your sample is rejected you will need to wait and be retested.
